                         This is a present that my father gave to me.
　　You can translate "This is a present." →　これは、プレゼントです。
　　"that my father gave to me" is modifying noun, which is "a present"
in Japanese, the modifier sentence has to be BEFORE noun unlike English. So the modifier sentence will be BEFORE "a present" プレゼント in this case. The modifier sentence verb should be SHORT Form.
So...
これは、父がくれたプレゼントです。This is my father gave to me present .

I met a person who went to Akron U.　→　私は、人に会いました。→I met a person
what kind of person? who went to Akron U. this modifier sentence modify noun 人　in this sentence so you have to write the modifier sentence BEFORE the noun　人.

   空港のご飯（食べ物）は体に悪くて、安くなさそうです。or

Expalantion of すぎる
「すぎる」means "Excess"
「 飲みすぎる」　means excess of drinking.
「飲みすぎない」 do not excess drinking.　
「飲みなさすぎる」 means excess of not drinking.

So, you have to change how to make sentences depending on the context.

For verbs ending in 「る」, if the vowel sound preceding the 「る」 is an /a/, /u/ or /o/ vowel sound,it will always be an u-verb. Otherwise, if the preceding sound is an /i/ or /e/ vowel sound, it will be a ru-verb in most cases.
